The inshore bite is really starting to heat up around Anna Maria Island. The Mangroves are loaded with schools of snook, ranging from 20-40 inches. Once you get the school fired up it’s very possible to get rallys of 10-20 fish to the boat.

The Speckled Sea Trout bite seems to be coming around as well, targeting the sand holes on shallower Grass flats (3-4ft) seems to be producing good numbers of Trout from 15-19 inches. I like to fish a live shiner on a 1/0 Owner Mutu circle hook with 4 ft of 20 lb fluorocarbon leader behind a popping cork.
Alex and Mike from Michigan got to experience an incredible Redfish bite this week as well. Fish ranging from 28-30 inches were caught and released to fight another day.
