—Things are still too hot to be very productive in the backwater areas, but nearshore action has stayed exciting.
—Snapper, grouper, sharks, and the occasional cobia have been biting on the reefs, although getting our catch past the goliath grouper and barracuda is always a challenge.
—Small sardines have begun to show off of the beaches, which has lead to bonito and mackerel action. We just follow the diving birds and cast live pilchards into the fray when we find an active school of fish.
