—This past week, big flounder have begun to show themselves off of the beach as they head offshore to spawn. Their movement usually lasts from late Spring until early Fall, and will continue to give my clients great action for the next few months.
—Sandy areas close to nearshore structure seem to be the best hangouts, and live or dead pilchards have been the bait of choice. Jigs will also entice these fun, tasty, and unique fish to eat.
—After an exciting morning, Bill Sr., Bill Jr., and Chad from Riverview, Florida managed to get a nice flounder catch along with some snapper and grouper.
