—In Tampa Bay and surrounding Anna Maria Island waters, the inshore gag grouper fishing report is that they usually turn on in a noticeable way after the first cold snap of the year. But this year, even though the weather has remained warm, the late October grouper fishing has been on fire.
—We have been catching gag grouper at many of the Anna Maria natural and artificial reefs. My customers have been catching them on rock piles, ledges and edges from the mouth of Tampa Bay all the way east into the Manatee County backcountry.
— Whether trolling lures or casting live bait, this is an action packed, shallow water experience that is very special. As I’ve said before , grouper fishing in shallow water is the battle of the first three feet. If you can turn them away from he structure quickly, you might have a chance to land one.
—Gag grouper season is open though December 3rd this year. Let’s go catch some!
