—The water temperature is up, and snook are on fire!
—After fishing mostly docks for the past few weeks, it is nice to be able to fish the grass flats again. With the water temperature getting over 70 degrees, the spring bite is on. Snook are out in numbers and are aggressively attacking everything we throw at them.
—We’ve been catching some nice sized trout and we’ve been getting a few flounder on the boat. Sheephead are still being caught and we’ve landed black drum and redfish this week around structure. Also, it’s always fun when we run into a school of jacks, and they’ve been showing up all over.
Fishing inshore this time of the year is definitely worth the effort. If you get a chance, get out and experience this snook bite for yourself, you will not be disappointed.
—Tight lines, Capt Phil
